When you arrive at the Salon

  • The Basics

Wifi is Charles de Gaulle and the password is notredame (you don’t want to have any capitals in this).

Lights you will see switches by the door and these operate the patio lights and some of the internal lights plus the overhead fan in the bedroom. There is also a switch by the kitchen area and that gives you lights in the kitchen and bathroom lights and the fan for bathroom too. There are lights in the courtyard too which can be switched on by the controls in the back right hand corner.

  • Bathroom

Please switch on the fan when showering and keep shower curtain closed so as to protect the rest of the room from getting wet. The hot water takes about 2 minutes to warm up and arrive in your shower - please be patient.

Robes are hanging in the bedroom for your comfort and you will find towels in the vanity unit. Please hang your bath towels outside to dry during the day - there are hooks on the courtyard walls and also on the patio undercover. There are no hooks in the bathroom on purpose as nothing will dry inside in our lovely sub-tropical climate. Please don’t hang anything on the curtain rod in the bathroom - it’s not built to take anything except our beautiful shower curtain.

  • Kitchen

You will find dishwashing liquid under the sink . Please wash up any plates, cups etc which you use whilst you are staying. There is a beige coloured mat under the sink too which you can pop on the side to rest items when drying them. The rubbish bin can also be found under the sink.

Behind the linen curtain under the tv you will find plates, cups, tea towels etc. You can also find the kettle and toaster. We have tea and coffee bags plus milk in the fridge for you.

If looking for an iron you will find it in drawer under the bed (right hand side looking at bed up near the bedhead).

  • TV

There is no aerial attached to the television. This means we only offer viewing through digital means. Go to the home screen and you can see the options there. You will see NETFLIX and you can log into your own account and watch or you can view YOUTUBE or also Chromecast. Hopefully you are familiar with Chromecast and have used it before. Basically you open a Chromecast-enabled app from your phone or tablet. The Cast button will automatically appear and then you tap the Cast button and select “Salon de la Sirène”. Follow the prompts to connect automatically. Yell if you need any help.

  • Linen + Furnishings

I hope you like the linen and bedding we use. Please make sure you take off all makeup before diving in. Be mindful too of any tanning products. Occasionally guests forget these things and sheets are wrecked and in these cases I do have to charge for this. In summer I have the light waffle blanket on the bed and if you need something more then you will find the big doona in the drawer under the bed (feet end left hand side looking at the bed). Also, may I please ask that you do not sit on the blue velvet chairs if you have wet and or sandy cossies on. If you happen to fall in love with our kimonos you can purchase them from me @ $160.

  • Environmental Notes

I am really conscious of trying to leave a small footprint on the planet which is the reason why we don’t offer single use shampoo, soaps and conditioners. Instead I think we can share the large containers and just be mindful of the plastics. If you have bottles or other recycling to dispose of please just put them under the sink on the newspaper provided. Yell if you want me to come and take some items away for you. It’s only a small bin as most guests are only in for a few nights but if you have excess waste then just let me know.

THANK YOU FOR STAYING WITH US AND WE HOPE YOU HAVE A BEAUTIFUL HOLIDAY
